Bilsteins Proven in the Outback

4WD owners doing extended outback tours that include the Simpson Desert, Tanami and Sandover Highway are full of praise for the Bilstein B6 Off Road shock absorbers fitted to their vehicles.

Attributes including improved handling, suppression of corrugations and passenger comfort are the most common types of praise by the owners of the vehicles.
These vehicles include Toyota Landcruiser and Prado models, Nissan Patrol and Navara models, Ford Ranger, VW Amarok, Mitsubishi Pajero, Mazda BT50 and other popular vehicles.

Many were towing caravans or camper trailers and were fully loaded with fuel, water, recovery gear and camping equipment. Most had upgraded springs to carry the extra weight and were lifted the normal 50mm above standard height.

Owners claimed reliability as another reason for choosing Bilsteins over other brands when upgrading their suspension systems. The monotube design of Bilsteins has been proven in many endurance motorsport events such as the Dakar Rally and Finke Desert Race and the Australian Safari.
